SpectraCell Blood Chemistry Testing

SpectraCell Blood Chemistry Testing
According to the American Medical Association, there is overwhelming evidence that vitamin deficiencies are linked to chronic disease including cancer, osteoporosis and heart disease. Learn how SpectraCell’s state of the art medical blood testing offered here can help determine where you may be deficient and how we can help you to avoid these chronic diseases.

MicroNutrient Testing & Analysis

Even when youre doing the things that we know are right and still dont feel as well as you think you should, University research shows that 50% of those who eat a balanced diet, exercise and take a multivitamin every day, are still nutritionally deficient. Thats because each of us are different our body chemistry, how our body absorbs what we put into our mouths, the presence of chronic illness such as arthritis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and more, our age and lifestyle all contribute to specific deficiencies that can negatively influence health. Overwhelming scientific evidence confirms that vitamin, mineral and antioxidant deficiencies have been shown to contribute to chronic degenerative processes such as arthritis, cancer, Alzheimers, cardiovascular disease and diabetes, and suppress immune function. .This body of research has been reaffirmed by the Journal of the American Medical Association:
MicroNutrient Testing & Analysis - Vitamin Deficiencies
Through simple blood testing, LaTorre Wellness Center can determine the function of selected vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other essential micronutrients within your white blood cells, and start you on a course that will help you reach optimal health status and live your best life.

Lipoprotein Particle Profile™ (LPP™) /Testing Cardiovascular Risk

About 50% of people suffering from heart attacks have shown normal cholesterol numbers (NIH National Heart Blood and Lung Institute). Cholesterol testing has historically been used as the standard indicator for cardiovascular disease, with the two types of cholesterol classified as HDL (good cholesterol) or LDL (bad cholesterol). However, it is actually the lipoprotein particles that carry the cholesterol throughout the body, not necessarily the cholesterol within them, that are responsible for building plaque which often results in the development of cardiovascular disease. More than 20 percent of the population has cholesterol-depleted LDL, a condition in which a patients cholesterol may be normal but their lipoprotein particle number, which shows their actual risk, could be much higher than expected. This is especially common in persons whose triglycerides are high or HDL is low. In the population with a cholesterol-depleted LDL, there can be up to a 40 percent error in risk assessment.
Lipoprotein Particle Profile (LPP) - Testing Cardiovascular Risk
By testing the LDL (low density lipoprotein) particle numbers using the Lipoprotein Particle Profile (LPP) through a simple blood draw, now offered at LaTorre Wellness Center, we can more accurately measure the lipoprotein subgroups -- the only way to evaluate new risk factors, which is crucial for an accurate assessment of cardiovascular risk according to the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP).

Telomere Testing/Slowing Aging & Age-Related Diseases

Telomeres are sections of genetic material at the end of each chromosome in your body whose primary function it is to prevent chromosomal fraying when a cell reproduces. As a cell ages, its telomeres become shorter. Eventually, the telomeres become too short to allow cells to reproduce which for your body, is all a part of the normal aging process. Telomere testing identifies telomere length, which then helps to determine your biological age, regardless of how old the calendar tells us you are. By knowing your biological age, we learn a lot about your health status, regardless of your age in years. By identifying your biological age, Tolomere Test results can help us at LaTorre Wellness Center customize a plan of therapies and lifestyle changes for you that can slow the loss of telomere length which in turn can slow your aging process and thus, delay or forestall those age-related diseases that you might otherwise develop. Done through a simple blood draw, we recommend that Telomere Testing be done once per year to evaluate your personal rate of aging so that we can help you make any needed adjustments in nutrition, nutritional supplements, weight management, exercise and other lifestyle modifications known to influence telomere length and the aging process.
